A Brief History
SM Designs began trading in 1992, originaly started by Simon as a custom painting business. (read more about Simon). With a reputation for top quality work, SM Designs soon grew to be one of the UK’s top custom paint shops.
In January 2000 SM Designs produced the first European Airbrushing video “40PSi”. The video was an immediate success, selling in Europe, Australia and the US, leading the way for 4 subsequet DVDs.
In 2002 with an increase in demand for airbrush awareness, SM Designs began running custom paint and airbrush classes in Northern Ireland.
To cope with the demand, Simon began teaching in England and the Republic of Ireland. The classes were sponsored by Auto Air Colors and were highly successful.
In 2003 SM Designs secured the Europeon Distribution rights for Auto Air Colors and continue to work closely with Auto Air in the development of new products.
In 2006 Simon and Angela bought Enfield Farm, a 1770 Farmhouse with land and out-buildings and immediately set about building the UK’s first purpose built airbrush teaching facility complete with spray booth.
In 2008 Simon and Angela built a new warehouse and distribution centre for the ever increasing product lines and now carry over 20000 items in stock ready for dispatch.
